SEATS
Introduction
The CITB SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) is a one-day course, aimed at providing students with an introduction to environmental considerations to be taken on construction sites.
It is designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain are required to prove to major contractors.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to:
understand the need to protect the environment
implement environmental management systems into the management of the site
have an understanding of the impact archaeology and heritage can have on a site
identify the principles of the good neighbour initiative
appreciate the need to be a responsible contractor

Archaeology and heritage
Assessment
To obtain certification students must pass a 30 minute exam consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions, selected by CITB. The pass mark is 72% (18 out of 25).
Students are allowed to refer to the course book for the final 10 minutes of the exam.

Certification
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.
