MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID | Level 3
Introduction
This 14 hour Adult MHFA Qualsafe Level 3 course teaches adults how to provide Mental Health First Aid to friends, families and co-workers.
Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until the appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves
The objective of the qualification is to benefit the learner by educating them in common mental health problems related to work, such as stress, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.
As a participant, you will gain improved skills in how to actively listen and have a conversation, provide suggestions and empower an individual to make their own decisions on how best to provide assistance to them in difficult times.
The learner will also gain an understanding of the laws that apply to the workplace associated with mental health.
