Apparently I never stick to timings - so was challenged by the PCR Team to provide some 3minute Walk n Talk Videos on risk management subjects.
Always up for a challenge, eager to share information, & supporting my mental wellbeing, the first subject will be ‘Policy’.
I briefly talk about the UK requirements for health & safety policy & also the ISO28000 policy requirements in the international standard for Security in the Supply Chain (clause 4.2).
I also highlight another useful mnemonic to add to our grab-bags - POCMR (planning, organisation, control, monitoring, review). A legal requirement in the UK
Whilst policies aren’t a sexy subject - a well written and communicated policy can:
1 - direct & guide employees (increase efficiency)
2 - assist in disciplinary processes
3 - make a difference to any final litigation outcome.
I hope the video is of use, if not at least I got to listen to a blackbird for 4 minutes!
