Introduction
Since leaving the UK military in early 2005 for a career in the private security sector, Andrew has developed a deep passion for health, safety and security risk management.
Andrew’s experience has been formed by working on QHSSE projects as an employee, consultant & auditor around the World. After being involved in a number of complex ambush attacks as both a team member and personal protection officer in the Middle East, in 2008 Andrew developed an obsessive interest in leadership and decision making. This widened Andrew’s interest from security to risk management in a broader context, and today he support’s many companies in multiple disciplines over numerous industries.
Andrew holds Masters qualifications in Security and Risk Management and Health, Safety and Environmental Management and is a Chartered Quality Professional (CQI). Andrew is also Fellow of IOSH, IIRSM and the Institute of Leadership.
Andrew highlights that his experience of working across industries in operational, tactical and strategic roles has guided his decision making, which follows the principles of risk management within the areas of health, safety, security, environmental and quality.
With a desire to promote best practice over minimum legal requirements, Andrew is an active 3rd party ISO Lead Auditor of risk management standards, and has undertaken audits in Afghanistan, China, Dubai, Egypt, Gibraltar, Iraq, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania and the USA.
