Security auditing: From Somalia to Dubai, to Oman
As I continue this current trip on behalf of MSS Global, I thought I would upload a short video while auditing off the coast of Oman.
This particular audit is on:
➡️ ISO28007 Ships and marine technology — Guidelines for Private Maritime Security Companies (PMSC) providing privately contracted armed security personnel (PCASP) on board ships, and
➡️ ISO28000 Specification for security management systems for the supply chain
The message in the video is that maritime security has some unique difficulties due to the lack of immediate support - in essence, planning and liaison must be really tied down to best ensure a robust response post incident.
If you are new to the security industry, it would be worth while taking a look at the maritime security industry as it offers some interesting areas to study ... citadels ... PCASPS ... ISO28007 ... ship hardening ... Ship Security Assessments and Ship Security Plans ... to name but a few.
On a separate note, hat's off to all those sea farers who spend a lot of life away from family and friends. I always feel a personal benefit from learning about their culture and personal lives in those brief moments of downtime. Kudos.
These trips also offer me valuable personal reflection time. Much needed
