SMSTS REFRESHER

Introduction

The Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher (known by industry ‘SMSTS Refresher’) is a 2 day course for Site Managers to re-qualify their original SMSTS or subsequent SMSTS Refresher. Each time a student qualifies, or re-qualifies their SMSTS the qualification expires 5 years from the end of the month in which they were assessed.

By completing the SMSTS Refresher the training time is cut from 5 to 2 days of training, making this the course the preferred re-qualification method for almost all employers.

As with the 5 Day SMSTS, this condensed version covers all relevant legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture within the workforce.

This course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.

At the end of the course you will be able to:

What our clients say …

“Jon is great! he really helped me and made me feel comfortable. The amount of knowledge I have coming out of this course is incredible.” - Aimee Panes

“Jon Hughes was an excellent tutor. He gave excellent H&S advice for site managers, some of which I have already implemented, such as induction and RAMS questionnaires for the workers. This was also assessed by our H&S auditor and was marked with an exceptional remark.” - Mihai Nita, Amery Construction ltd

“Compared to my last SMSTS course, Phil was great, very personable and got all participants involved throughout the course. Phil also kept the course humoured (but professional) which I think helped to relax all delegates.” - Justin Beavan, Managing Director, Specialist Contract Building Solutions Ltd

“Thanks to the PCR Global team and especially the tutor Phil Parry , who made the course interesting , interactive and enjoyable . His style of presenting / tutoring promoted the sharing of knowledge of both the less experienced candidates and those who have been longer in the industry . Plenty of good breakout chats based around individual experiences and best practice.” - Darryn Parry, R&M Williams ltd
